Michaela Twarog

Field Instructor — WFR

While Michaela Twarog may be one of our newest field instructors, she’s certainly no stranger to working in key roles at some of the highest profile outdoor education programs in the nation. From Hurricane Island Outward Bound School and Above and Beyond Alaska, to North Star Trekking and North Carolina Outward Bound School, Michaela has guided and instructed alongside some of the very best people in the field of outdoor and adventure-based education.

Certified as both a Wilderness First Responder and Swift Water Rescue Technician, Michaela’s passion for continuing education propelled her to receive a certificate in outdoor skills and leadership from the Univ. of Alaska Southeast, as well as the prestigious Certificate in Outdoor Leadership from Greenfield Community College. A 2012 graduate of the Woman’s Studies program at the Univ. of Massachusetts Amherst, when she’s not working, Michaela enjoys rock and ice climbing, traveling, and eating ice cream.
