Shawn Eller

NC Level I, Paramedic EMT Instructor

Before joining the Staff here at The National Center for Outdoor & Adventure Education, Shawn was a medic in the United States Air Force, a trooper for the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, and a medic and protection specialist for a variety of government agencies.

He is a National Registry EMT paramedic; a certified EMT paramedic for the state of North Carolina, as well as a certified public safety instructor in that state. He is also a certified Wilderness EMT.

Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, this husband and father of two has had a lifetime passion for providing service for others and, in particular, assisting those who can’t provide help for themselves.

That passion isn’t just a desire or a goal. Shawn has practiced it on a daily basis for the past quarter of a century around the globe, including both domestic and international deployments throughout Africa, South America and the Middle East.

So it comes as absolutely no surprise to us that he is now targeting that passion to teaching and mentoring future EMTs here at NCOAE – especially those who want to explore new experiences and pursue their own dreams for serving others.
