Adventure First: The National Center for Outdoor & Adventure Education (NCOAE) is the hub of relevant and inspiring programming. We believe that unique educational settings have the power to help people create positive and profoundly empowering experiences. And, our classroom extends around the world, from the remote Pacific Coast to the high Himalayan Mountains to the turquoise rivers of Patagonia and beyond.
The heart of every course is NCOAE’s core curriculum, which provides a data-proven positive impact on participants’ leadership, decision-making, and communication.
Education Always: If you would like to work professionally in the outdoor industry around the world, a course with NCOAE will challenge you to learn and practice more than you thought possible in our Outdoor Educator Instructor, Semester & Gap Year or the Women’s Wilderness Initiative. The wilderness skills you gain are applicable to a wide variety of jobs and opportunities in the outdoor, wilderness, and adventure travel industries. To top it all off, you might even be able to receive academic credit for participating in NCOAE courses from the University of North Carolina – Wilmington.
